I think one of the things I subconsciously appreciated the most about the artist was the way he often took on a female voice in his songs, singing from a perspective that was rarely heard in rock and roll. His was an ambiguous, androgynous, amorphous sexuality in the same way David Bowie’s had been in the decade prior.
We all know college isn't what it used to be. We've heard stories from our grandparents and maybe even our great-grandparents in cyber freeze. We've seen the old classics like Animal House, Old School, and The Skulls. But even in 2057 you too can have a college experience filled with the trappings of what the 20th century called essential extra-curricular education.
Yeah, twenty years on, the world is not really all that amazing. We have regressed years in technology, and people are so focused on this battle of good vs. evil thing that happened just recently it’s like living under a theocracy. I might call it the ‘Taliban of the good’ although see in our timeline, the Taliban never existed, because Captain Trips took out most of the world in 1985.
Hello people of 2097. Music in 2017 has reached a zenith of pure commercialese, computer processed, and company packaged so that everyone has access to exactly the type of music they like best. Yes, niche genres are the thing. I mean there’s Punk, Post-punk, Pop punk, Proto-punk, Cowpunk, Skate Punk, Horror Punk, Folk Punk, Gothic Punk, Crust Punk, Hardcore Punk, Post-Hardcore Punk, Ska-core, Grindcore, Queercore, Trampcore, and Orgcore. And that’s just one sliver of the musical color spectrum.
