The SFANTHOR/MUSEUM OF THE WEIRD Pre-Apocalyptic Happy Hour

Join the OWA team and filmmakers at our first event of the festival -- the Pre-Apocalyptic Happy Hour,  Thursday, December 3rd from 5 - 7 pm, sponsored by two of Austin’s coolest (and weirdest!) attractions, the SFANTHOR! HOUSE OF WAX and The MUSEUM OF THE WEIRD.

Before films kick off at 7:42pm with Opening Night Film BOY 7, stop by and pick up your badge at Austin Beerworks (3009 Industrial Terrace, Austin, TX 78758) and enjoy some amazing craft beer. Our Outreach Director Debbie Cerda is collaborating with the brewery team to design a special firkin of beer that will premiere during our happy hour.

Entrance to the Pre-Apocalyptic Happy Hour is free to all attendees.  For just $10 you can purchase a brewery logo pint glass that comes with 3 fills of great craft beer. Turkish wraps and other tasty delights will be available for purchase from Kebabalicious, one of Austin’s most beloved food trucks.  So come, enjoy great conversation with ou OWA team about their favorite films over a pint in a genuine working brewery!

Other Worlds Austin wants to thank our amazing sponsor for making this party possible.  For years, the MUSEUM OF THE WEIRD has charmed, disturbed and terrified locals and tourists alike on 6th Street.  This year, Steve and Veronica Busti, the husband-and-wife team behind Austin’s world famous attraction, lowered the drawbridge to another amazing experience, the SFANTHOR! HOUSE OF WAX.

Austin’s newest, coolest and creepiest attraction, SFANTHOR! is a museum dedicated exclusively to classic horror, science fiction and fantasy films. Walk through the winding halls of Castle Sfanthor and experience a century of celluloid monsters immortalized in wax.  Explore Sfanthor!’s gift shop, a mecca of geekdom featuring vintage comic books, toys, action figures, model kits, and some of the coolest genre t-shirts you’ll find in Austin. (Bears has bought three himself).

We’ll have coupons for both MUSEUM OF THE WEIRD and SFANTHOR at the Party.

Check out more about Sfanthor here.

Austin Beerworks is a vibrant brewery located in North Austin, featuring a broad assortment of stellar craft beer created by "local brewers hell-bent on excellence." The founders and staff of Austin Beerworks support the local film community throughout the year.  The brewery is located near 183 and Burnet.  We hope to see you there.
