Director Gary Nelson discusses the big-screen return of his 1979 Sci-Fi feature, The Black Hole

The Texas premiere of the SciFi action comedy AXCELLERATOR takes place on Wednesday, June 26 (7:30pm) at Galaxy Highland 10 Theatre. Director David Giancola will be in attendance and will do a Q&A after the film.
Other Worlds Film Festival announces new branding and a new home as it enters its sixth season. Formerly Other Worlds Austin SciFi Film Festival, the new moniker reflects Other Worlds’ natural evolution as an international brand and its broad influence with smart, independent sci-fi and horror films.
Other Worlds Austin SciFi Film Festival is proud to announce its 2018 Audience, Mary Shelley, Dan O’Bannon, Screenplay, and Cthulhies award winners. Large and enthusiastic crowds enjoyed a lot of SciFi (and a fair amount of horror) during the four-day fest (Dec. 6-9 at Flix Brewhouse). Audiences sampled more than 50 films from around the world, along with captivating Q&As, workshops, parties, and more.
For its fifth year, Other Worlds will have more great SciFi features and shorts from around the globe, more filmmakers and special guests, and some big retro films, including 2018 Launch Film: the 30th anniversary screening of ALIEN NATION, starring James Caan and Mandy Patinkin.
