Presenting the Texas Premiere of IT CUTS DEEP!
The final Other Worlds Orbiter screening of 2020

Austin, TX – Other Worlds Film Festival is so proud to announce its final Virtual Orbiter screening of 2020: IT CUTS DEEP. Director/writer Nicholas Payne Santos will do a live Q&A via Eventive on Thursday, November 5 (7:30PM Central). The film will be available starting November 1st.

While on Christmas vacation, Ashley tells her boyfriend Sam that she hopes to tie the knot and start a family, a thought that terrifies Sam. When the attractive and seemingly omnipresent Nolan shows up and alludes to potentially violent ties to Sam's past, Sam's world begins to close in around him in terrifying ways. Both horrifying and hilarious, IT CUTS DEEP plays upon the fears of both parenthood and manhood in equal measure, and flips the tables on the classic good guy vs bad guy trope.

WHAAAAT?! MovieMaker Magazine put out a list of the world's top genre festivals with FilmFreeway today, and guess who's on it :)   Check it out:

Austin itself and the whole festival team get the highest marks for this highly regarded festival, which is primarily focused on science fiction, but includes a side- bar called Under Worlds focused on horror. Each year, artistic director Bears Rebecca Fonte attends the world premiere of the 48-Hour Sci-Fi Film Challenge at Other Worlds’ sister festival, Sci-Fi London, then flies home to give the films their North American premiere the next day. “Bears and her staff are amazing and so very sweet, but one of the most interesting things about this festival is that it is both science fiction- and horror-based, so you really get the best of both worlds,” said one filmmaker. The fest also gives out a Defender of the Universe Award for people who create or inhabit inspiring characters.
Other Worlds co-sponsoring screening of new Bowie biopic!

Other Worlds is partnering with longtime music-themed film festival Sound Unseen to present STARDUST! The film will be available to stream during the weekend of November 13-15.

The film chronicles the young David Bowie's first visit to the US in 1971 - a trip that inspired the invention of his iconic alter ego Ziggy Stardust.

Other Worlds fans will get $2 off any tickets! See HERE for more info.
Also, Other Worlds community sponsoring 2 films at
Austin Jewish Film Festival this year!
First, it's the North American premiere of HAPPY TIMES, a horror comedy!

A boorish Israeli-American couple plan a Sabbath dinner party for a group of fellow ex-pat friends and family in their Hollywood Hills mansion. What could possibly go wrong? Well, start with a deadly mix of alcohol, add inflated egos, some inappropriate lust, and top with raging jealousy: the result is a cauldron of murderous mayhem.

Also playing is blast-from-the-past ABULELE, which first screened at AJFF in 2015!
Since the sudden loss of his older brother in a car crash, ten-year-old Adam has been struggling at home and failing at school. Everything changes the day Adam meets Abulele, an oversized furry monster of legend that is feared by many but proves to be a friendly companion to children in need. As Adam and his new best friend outsmart his tormentors at school, the boy’s parents start to suspect their son is harboring a secret. Meantime, an elite special forces team closes in, tasked with capturing or killing the beast.

Watch the films anytime during the festival, November 7-13! More info on tickets HERE!
