Inspiring Images: Q

Star Trek: TNG came out the same month I was born.

I distinctly remember sitting on my Fisher Price plastic chair in the hall while my parents watched TNG after my bedtime and being enthralled. All the storylines were amazing and captured my imagination, but the pilot really stuck with me - even to this day!

The portrayal of "Q" by John de Lancie opened my mind as a child to both the quiet horror (he's so intimidating in this episode), and the philosophical questions that SciFi can represent. There was a sense of wonder and fear that I think perfectly represents the universe to humanity. "Q" will forever be the face of the judgment in my mind.
